Alfie visits Homebush Bay

Alfie’s Barking Mad Year

What a barking mad year it’s been!

I’ve had plenty of adventures going along with Kylie to co-design committees, a Disability expo, and just recently speaking to students at Western Sydney University.

I wasn’t allowed to go and chase sheep with Kylie on our friend’s farm near Nambucca.  (When I’m not groomed my wool might have made people think I was one of the sheep!).

I have a new trainer and I’m learning to march proudly in step with Kylie along the Wentworth Point Promenade. In the open spaces I’m not so jumpy with noisy skateboards or cyclists rushing up behind me!

I just wish it wouldn’t rain so much, as my wool smells like old socks!

August 2025

Happy Christmas to all!

Hi! What a wonderful finish to the year I’m having!

I’ve just been authorised to wear my MindDog jacket again, and Kylie and I have a lovely new trainer. We can’t wait to get started around the peaceful Wentworth Point environment!

Yesterday was my 6th birthday, and today Kylie and her friends sang happy birthday to me. It was fun. And soon it will be Christmas – more good times ahead.

VALID 2026
HAVING A SAY CONFERENCE

January 30, 2026

I just got back from the 25th Anniversary VALID ‘Having a Say’ Conference in Geelong, and had quite interesting 3 or 4 days. It was very well organised by VALID and it was held at Deakin University.

I caught up with a couple of friends, but not a lot, and had a marvellous time. I spoke about my experiences with ‘Siblings Australia’ in a workshop at the event.

On Tuesday it was tremendously hot, and there were heaps of bush fires in Victoria, so the Harley Davidson rides had to be cancelled, which was a pity.

I went to the ‘Come and Try’ art – painting session and loved it. I learnt different ideas from other people as well as other styles.
